Susan Dwyer, DPT, CSCS, earned her earned her BS in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College with Honors in 1996. She earned her doctorate in Sports Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 2015. Susan specializes in sports and orthopedics physical therapy. For 11 years, Susan provided physical therapy to numerous recreational, collegiate and professional athletes, including team members of the NY Jets, NY Islanders, NY Dragons, United States Tennis Association, MBA, Long Island University, Molloy College and Hofstra University. Susan joined PRO Rehabilitation Services in May 2007.
Susan has an extensive training background in all areas utilizing such techniques as Mulligan Concepts, McConnell, muscle energy techniques, and kinesio taping. More recently, Susan has participated in course work on "Understanding the Runner" and "The Running Course" to assist runners in achieving all their goals. As an athlete who participates in half-marathons, an avid skier, and surfer, as well as a sports physical therapist, Susan became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2002. This experience has helped her introduce more sports-specific training protocols and exercises to her recreational and professional athletes. Susan incorporates many core stabilization exercises in programs for her patients which enable them to be more successful in their everyday activities.
Susan has had the pleasure to grow and expand the PRO Rehabilitation Services office in Clarks Summit. As the Clinic Manager, Susan has been responsible for making contacts throughout the community, and she continues to speak at various health fairs, adult community centers, local colleges and high schools. In 2015, Susan assumed the responsibility as Manager of an additional PRO Rehabilitation Services clinic in Tunkhannock.
