The Physical Therapists at PRO Rehab are experts of human movement and can play a critical role in providing fall prevention services to at risk populations. Falls in older adults are a major public health concern due to high prevalence, impact on health outcomes, and quality of life disturbances. The CDC has reported that more than one third of adults age 65 and older fall each year in the United States. 20% to 30% of the people who suffer these falls will have moderate to severe injuries which will significantly affect their quality of life.
Our Balance screenings at PRO Rehab are designed to identify people who are at a higher risks for falls and prevent further injuries before they happen. Our screens are completed by licensed physical therapists who are specialists in movement analysis and gait assessments. Within a 15 minute time frame, the therapist will discuss your experiences with falls, and conduct several balance tests which are evidence based in identifying potential fall risks. As part of this screen, you will be provided with your results and given recommendations based upon your performance.
