Occupational Therapy at PRO Rehabilitation Services is a program designed to restore our patients’ independence in performing self-care, work, and leisure "Activities of Daily Living." (ADL's) Our Occupational Therapists work with patients in developing skills required to perform those tasks essential in their everyday lives. The individual Occupational Therapy programs at PRO Rehabilitation Services are designed to help patients develop or regain the skills that allow them to lead productive, satisfying lives, while working with their doctors throughout the entire rehabilitative process.
Our Occupational Therapy practitioners at PRO Rehabilitation Services have specialized training in manual therapy techniques to reduce swelling and restore range of motion. They provide individualized, hands on treatment for patients with orthopedic, neuromuscular, and neurological disorders. They also offer customized splinting for tendon and other hand, wrist, and elbow injuries. In addition, the Occupational Therapy staff at PRO Rehabilitation Services includes a Certified Hand Therapist and a certified Functional Capacity Evaluator.
Our Occupational Therapists are also experienced in designing individualized work conditioning programs. They are successful in facilitating a safe return to pre-injury work status. A strong emphasis on posture and body mechanics education is provided.
The Occupational Therapy staff at PRO Rehabilitation Services also offers training to patients in the areas of basic self care and household management activities. Therapeutic activities training with the use of adaptive equipment is provided when necessary in a one-on-one environment.
