PRO Rehabilitation Services offers programs for Post Injury Rehabilitation as well as Injury Prevention in each of our clinics. Our cost effective programs meet the individual needs of both the employer and employee to quickly facilitate a safe return to work. Our experienced Physical and Occupational Therapists work as a team to establish treatment objectives that are realistic and consistent with workers’ needs and promotes optimal levels of physical independence and functional abilities. Our therapists use work conditioning exercises and simulated job tasks to prepare workers for a return to their specific job and duties.
Work Conditioning/Work Hardening
Work conditioning is a work related program designed to improve physical functioning and enable you to return to work. The focus of work conditioning is to restore your flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination, to maximize your physical performance for your essential job functions. Following a thorough evaluation, our Physical and Occupational Therapists work together to establish an individualized strength and conditioning program with elements of specific job simulation activities. A strong emphasis is also placed on body mechanics education to promote job safety and to reduce the risk of re-injury.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) are an objective measure of an employee's physical demand level (PDL) to perform work. Functional Capacity Evaluations can assist with identifying a safe return to work level for modified or full duty.
At PRO Rehabilitation Services, Functional Capacity Evaluations are performed by a certified evaluator. A thorough, easy to read summary is completed and sent to the physician within 24 hours. Functional Capacity Evaluations can also be modified for specific jobs and can include validity testing.
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) provide documentation that quantifies safe functional abilities, and can be a pivotal resource for:
- Return to work and job placement decisions.
- Determination of work function and non- work related illness and injuries.
- Case management and discharge planning.
