PRO Rehab has physical therapists with advanced post-graduate training certifications including the world-renowned MDT Certification from The McKenzie Institute USA Center for Postgraduate Study in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. Our physical therapists who have completed these advanced postgraduate courses are practitioners of the Mckenzie Method, an evidence-based patient management system proven to eliminate back, neck and extremity pain in fewer visits compared to traditional treatment.
The key distinction of this method is its initial mechanical assessment component which utilizes a comprehensive and clinically reasoned evaluation of the patient’s symptoms without the use of expensive diagnostic imaging. The treatment principles of the McKenzie Method promote the body’s potential to repair itself. With utilization of the McKenzie Method, our therapists will teach you the principles of the method and empower you to be in control of your own symptom management.
At your initial visit our MDT certified therapist will conduct a mechanical assessment which will identify a directional preference to accurately understand the patient’s presentation and behavior of your symptoms. The assessment explores different positions and movements, how they are performed, and the response of the symptoms. This will allow the therapist to determine the most appropriate and effective treatment plan in order to restore your optimal function.
The McKenzie Method is especially effective for the following conditions:
- Herniated Discs
- Bulging Discs
- Neck and Lower Back Pain
- Sciatica
- Sacroiliac dysfunction
- Arthritis
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Muscle Spasms
