Parkinson's Disease and other Neurological Movement Disorders

Neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease can affect brain cells which control movement and coordination. Exercise, coordination, and balance training have been proven to be beneficial for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

PRO Rehabilitation has Occupational and Physical therapy staff with advanced training related to Parkinson's disease and other neurological conditions. Our therapists are LSVT BIG certified and incorporate these strategies into a comprehensive treatment program.

Program Approach Includes:

  • Strength Training - To improve muscle function, posture and activity performance.
  • Coordination Training - To improve reaching, grasping, and object manipulation.
  • Cognitive Strategies - To assist with memory, attention, direction following, and safety awareness.
  • Body Mechanics Training - To promote efficient movement patterns and minimize joint stress.

What can patients expect?
