Susan Dwyer, PT, DPT, CSCS, earned her B.S. in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College with Honors in 1996. She earned her Doctorate in Sports Physical Therapy from Utica College in 2015. Susan specializes in sports and orthopedic physical therapy. For 11 years, Susan provided physical therapy to numerous recreational, collegiate, and professional athletes, including team members of the NY Jets, NY Islanders, NY Dragons, United States Tennis Association, NBA, Long Island University, Molloy College, and Hofstra University.
Susan joined PRO Rehabilitation Services in May of 2007 as the Clinic Manager of our Clarks Summit facility. She also became the Clinic Manager of PRO Rehab’s Tunkhannock facility in 2015. She has an extensive training background in all areas and incorporates the Mulligan Concepts, Muscle Energy Techniques, Fascial Counterstrain Techniques and Kinesio taping into her treatment plans. She has also participated in course work, “Understanding the Runner”, “The Running Course”, “Understanding the Golf Swing”, and “Common Injuries for Golfers”.
As a lifelong athlete, Susan has participated in many sports, including but not limited to, gymnastics, volleyball, golf, skiing, surfing, and hiking. This knowledge combined with being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist has helped her introduce more sports-specific training protocols and exercises to her recreational and professional athletes. She also incorporates many core stabilization exercises in programs for her patients, which enables them to be more successful in their everyday activities.
